The National Science Foundation recently awarded the Milwaukee I-Corps site $30,000 in additional funding to encourage innovation with commercial potential in the nursing field. Nursing faculty, doctoral students, and undergraduate students learn concepts and strategies related to product realization through hack-a-thons, course modules, and other training activities. This effort leverages the many opportunities for innovation in public health by enhancing workflow efficiencies, reducing worker injury, and improving patient care. This program is also targeting first-generation college students, racial and ethnic minorities, and women.
